Prepare your trip
Stay connected. Work without missing the journey.
SIM cards, internet, coworking and a nomad rhythm: prepare a real working day in Dakar.
SIM, eSIM and internet: what should you check?
Orange Senegal lists SIM/eSIM services and requires subscriber identification. Check eSIM availability for your profile, phone compatibility, activation and documents with the provider. An offer on a website guarantees neither immediate access for every traveller nor coverage at your address. Prices and plans are not fixed in this guide.
Before choosing a SIM
Check that your phone supports the option you choose: physical SIM, eSIM and any required network unlocking. Compare coverage where you will travel, validity, data and tethering. Buy from an outlet identified by the operator and check required documents. We do not label a plan “best” without current prices and coverage for your use.
Test what your work actually needs
A pleasant café is not automatically an office. Before working there, ask whether laptops and longer stays are welcome, and check outlets, calls, noise and access conditions. Jokkolabs publishes an address in Sacré-Cœur; contact the team to confirm day access. For an important meeting, test your connection in the actual room and keep a backup.
Choose a base, then a rhythm
Our suggestion for a nomad stay: start with a stable base, protect working hours and leave longer outings for free days. A calendar crowded with transfers and video calls leaves little space for either. Verified coworking listings will be added with their own conditions; no connection speed is guaranteed here.
