Your data, plainly.

Updated 10 September 2026. You can explore Leydimen without an account. Sign-in lets you keep personal travel notes across devices.

What is saved

Your account favourites, trips and personal places are tied to an identifier derived from your signed-in account. Your name and email are not copied into these records. Trips include the preferences and budget you enter.

Without sign-in, My Senegal stores saved discoveries, dates and checklist items in this browser. After sign-in, you explicitly choose whether to add them to your account. Account notes are stored in the site database and are not copied into guest browser storage. The packing checklist stays local.

The editorial workspace

Records, drafts and collaboration notes are stored in the site database. Uploaded photographs are stored in its media storage. Contact details and permission notes remain owner-only; selected credits and links accompany published content. No messages to creators or businesses are sent automatically.

What is shared

A share link shows only the first two days, without your budget or account identifier. You can disable it from your trip. Anyone with that link can read the preview. Your My Senegal space stays personal.

Map and audience measurement

Map tiles load from OpenStreetMap, which receives the usual network information for that request. Internal audience measurement is optional and starts only after you accept. No third-party advertising tool is loaded.

With your agreement, Leydimen counts pages and actions (searches without their text, saves, preparation and partner clicks). Measurement stores no traveler identifier, email, IP address, travel date or private URL. UTM parameters are limited to recognized sources and campaigns registered by Leydimen. Statistics cover 90 days; older events are purged on the next collection or Admin review. They are owner-only. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable collection.

After consent, a random identifier limited to this tab session groups actions. It rotates after 30 minutes of inactivity, at the UTC day boundary or after 12 hours, and is transformed before storage. It does not recognize you across visits or websites. Engagement estimates active time without recording interaction contents. Device information is reduced to mobile, tablet or desktop; only country and continent are used when supplied by hosting. Small geographic groups are combined in the owner dashboard. Referrals use only the main domain, with no path or parameters; campaign values are retained only when pre-registered by Leydimen.

Optional measurement: disabled

Email checklist and partners

A checklist request stores your email, language and a dated record of your choices. Marketing is optional and unchecked. No email delivery is active. When the address matches your signed-in account, the request is linked to My Senegal. Withdraw it in preparation or My Senegal; without an account, the management key stays in this browser. The owner can also delete a request. Requests older than 12 months are purged on the next use of this service or Admin review.

Commercial links are disclosed and do not influence editorial badges. Opening an external link takes you to the partner’s website, which applies its own privacy policy.

Signing up for the Dakar 2026 guide stores your email, date, originating page, language and consent to receive the guide and Leydimen travel tips. This data is not sold. The guide is available immediately after signup. Future travel tips by email are being prepared; each future email will include a one-click unsubscribe link.

Your email choices

Trip reminders and marketing have separate preferences, off by default and manageable in My Senegal. No automated emails are active at present. Essential sign-in communications are separate. Leydimen does not sell traveler data.

Deletion

You can clear My Senegal from its preferences, delete itineraries from My trips and delete personal spots. Data remains saved until you remove it. Clearing My Senegal removes its saved discoveries, profile, checklist and preferences; it does not delete your identity-provider account.
